An adventurous Kutchi sailor named Ram Singh Malam was shipwrecked and ended up in Holland, where he mastered glassblowing, clockmaking, enameling, and tile-making over 17 years. Upon returning to Kutch, Maharao Lakhpatji commissioned him to build this dream palace.
